Over 600 students from 48 local and international schools joined the UNICEF Club over the past academic year, collectively organizing nearly 120 creative and meaningful school activities! These included a wide range of initiatives such as charity fundraisers, second-hand item drives and donations, game booths, and workshops. Some schools promoted SDG 6 "Clean Water and Sanitation" by creating water filters, while others eraise awareness of SDG 3 "Good Health and Well-being” by encouraging students to take part in fitness activities at the gym. One school even started by planting onions and ended up making scallion pancakes to share with students —all in the spirit of advocating for a sustainable lifestyle.
Through these diverse activities, over 20,000 students gained a deeper understanding of UNICEF's global, learned about children's rights and the SDGs, and shared these important messages with their friends, teachers, schools, and communities.
On September 20, UNICEF HK held the "Youth for Youth Summit - Learning to Leading our 4500 Days”, bringing together representatives from various sectors of society, as well as participants from local education and youth programmes, to celebrate the journey and learning outcomes of these youth-led projects. In addition to recognizing the efforts of the participating secondary schools, the event featured student representatives from UNICEF Clubs of Kowloon True Light School, Pui Shing Catholic Secondary School, and HKBU Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School.
